The Accounting Technician

The Accounting Technician role is responsible for managing and monitoring the company’s financial operations. They ensure the accuracy of accounting transactions and contribute to the preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable standards. They work closely with the accounting team and other departments to ensure proper bookkeeping.

Missions

  • Enter accounting transactions (invoices, payments, receipts, journal entries, etc.).
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable (invoicing, payment tracking, follow-ups).
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor banking transactions.
  • Prepare and verify tax reports (GST/QST, VAT, etc.).
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Track expenses and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance of accounting documents with regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
  • Maintain the organization of accounting records and archives.
  • Support the accounting department in various administrative and financial tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma in accounting, administrative techniques, or any equivalent training.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Proficiency in accounting and tax principles.
    • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Acomba).
    • Strong command of Excel and office tools.
